WhatsApp has announced three new features and improvements to its Android app. This includes document titles, longer subject and group descriptions, and the option to share up to 100 media files. These features are now available to all users who download the latest version of WhatsApp for Android from the Google Play Store. The social media platform recently released a beta version of WhatsApp for iOS that allows testers to share up to 100 media simultaneously, raising the previous limit of up to 30 media shared simultaneously in a chat.
These new features are listed in the official change log of the latest WhatsApp update for Android on the Google Play store.
This includes the ability to insert document captions, use longer subject lines and group descriptions, and share up to 100 media files and avatars. It is not yet known when these features will be available to iOS users. However, it was recently reported that WhatsApp has launched a beta version for some iOS users where some testers can share up to 100 media files simultaneously.
When sharing documents, users can now add captions to documents just like any other media file. Android users can now also select longer titles and descriptions for their groups. As previously mentioned, users can now share up to 100 images and videos in chat, which the company says will "make it easier for users to share entire albums with friends and family."
WhatsApp has added a changelog that lets you express yourself more clearly by creating avatars to use as stickers and profile pictures. This feature was rolled out for users in December with support for 36 custom stickers.
The social media platform is also reportedly working to allow users to send photos in "original quality" from the app, including PC, iOS and Android versions.
